This document gives the determination of aggregate crushing value (ACV) of aggregates. This gives a relative measure of the resistance of the aggregate crushing under the gradually applied compressive load. The method is applicable to aggregates passing a 14,0 mm test sieve and retained on a 10,0 mm test sieve.

More fineness modulus value indicates that the aggregate is a coarse sand small value of fineness modulus indicated that the aggregate is finer. The Fineness modulus is a factor obtained by adding the cumulative percentages of aggregate retained on each of the sieves ranging from 80 mm to 150 mm microns and dividing this by 100.

The study used coarse aggregate with a size range from 4.75 mm to 20 mm. Natural coarse aggregates from the crusher were used. The sieve analysis of coarse aggregates is carried out as per IS 383:2016. ... values were 3.57 and 1.25, respectively. Similarly, for natural coarse aggregate, the Cu and Cc values were 1.07 and 1.01, …
Objective: For the assessment of the aggregate crushing value of coarse aggregate. The aggregate crushing value provides a subjective measure of the resistance of the aggregate crushing in the pressure of the progressively smeared compressive load. When the aggregate crushing value is 30 or greater the outcome …

Six aggregates sampled from different sources were subjected to various aggregate tests, including the Los Angeles abrasion, micro-Deval, soundness magnesium, and acid insoluble tests. A Superpave mix with a 12.5-mm (1/2-in.) nominal maximum aggregate size gradation was produced with each aggregate source using the same …
The crushing strength of an aggregate was determined by means of the so-called aggregate crushing index according to PN-B-06714-40 [19], analogous to the British method of determining aggregate crushing value (ACV) according to BS 812 [18], but with some differences. A specimen of aggregate in a steel cylinder with an internal diameter …

The crushing value of the coarse aggregate is defined as the relative measure of the resistance which is offered by the aggregate to the crushing under the gradually applied load. #2 Impact value of Aggregate ( IS 2386 Part IV -1963)
Aggregate Crushing Value (ACV) is an index of loss of coarse aggregate (CA) under sustained loading. However, ACV is not considered in concrete mix design according to ACI 211.1(ACI 211.1, 2009). In this paper effect of ACV of CA on compressive strength of concrete has been explored. Coarse Aggregate was collected from five different …
