Converting Between Linear Force and Torque of a Ballscrew

If you know the linear force applied to a ballscrew, then you can calculate the torque produced by backdriving the ballscrew. The calculation is based on converting the applied torque to the force acting on the ball bearing, and then calculating the linear vector component of the resultant force. Torque = Force x Distance

Torque Calculator

How does this torque calculator work? The algorithm behind this torque calculator is based on the equations provided below that depend on the variable to be calculated: - T = F * D - F = T / D - D = T / F. Where: T = Torque (usually expressed in Newton-meter). F = Force (often measured in Newton). D = Distance (often expressed in meter).

Ball Valve Torque Calculation

The torque requirement of a ball valve can be calculated from its breakaway torque and dynamic torque. Breakaway Torque Breakaway torque – the turning moment required to move the ball from rest – can be calculated from the formula Tb = A (ΔP) + B. ΔP represents the pressure drop across the valve and A and B are constants …
